Three-time major champion offers chance-of-a-lifetime coaching clinic 15 - November 2011

Abu Dhabi, UAE. 21ST January 2011: Padraig Harrington, the two-time (British) Open Champion and PGA Championship winner, has offered to showcase his skills in a clinic at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship at 11.30 a.m. on Saturday, to make up for the disappointment of him not competing for the title over the final two days of the tournament.

The Irishman, who was disqualified on Friday morning after a rules infringement involving the placement of his ball on a green, will be joined by former New Zealand cricket captain Chris Cairns and international rugby legends Gavin Hastings and Jonathan Davies as well as Simon Cooper the CEO of HSBC Middle East and North Africa. He also hopes to involve the children in the crowd.

"I have no issues with my disqualification as I believe the Rules of Golf are the best and fairest of any sport but I am very disappointed not to be playing on Saturday and Sunday. However, I am looking forward to putting in some practice time on the range and hosting a clinic for the children. I might even make the first lesson all about marking and replacing your ball!” Harrington joked.

“HSBC, as they do all over the world, have provided much entertainment in the spectator village and I look forward to being part of Saturday's activities!" he added.
