Abu Dhabi, UAE. 26th November, 2009:
Tickets go on sale for January’s star-studded event
Tickets for January’s Abu Dhabi Golf Championship go on sale this week, with the event expected to smash previous attendance figures as spectators flock to the first major stop on the 2009 European PGA Tour calendar.
Running January 15-18th on Abu Dhabi Golf Club’s plush National Course, a world-class line-up of golf’s top international stars, including world number two Sergio Garcia, Ireland’s world number four Padraig Harrington, 2007 Championship winner Paul Casey and Sweden’s world number eleven Henrik Stenson, will all be vying to start 2009 with a victory in the UAE capital.
And with all the action unfolding under the watchful eyes of Abu Dhabi Golf Club’s iconic falcon-shaped clubhouse, organisers are predicting the biggest Championship to date.
“We are advising people to get in early and claim their tickets,” said Peter German, Tournament Director, Abu Dhabi Golf Championship – which is organised by Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority.
“The field for the Championship represents our best to date and with several improvements having been made to facilities for next year’s event, including a bigger spectator village and enhanced sponsors’ area and car parking, the fourth edition of the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship will be the best so far and we are expecting record numbers,” added German.
Tickets for the Championship are AED 125 for a daily pass and AED 400 for a four-day pass. Preferential rates of AED 100 and AED 300 respectively apply to UGA members. Children under 18 will be admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Car parking will be free during the Championship.
Tickets are available at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club, via the event’s official website – www.abudhabigolfchampionship.com – online at www.timeouttickets.com and www.itptickets.com, and through the ITP toll free hotline 800 4669, or for international clients, +971 4 210 8943.
