THE ‘GIANTS OF GOLF’ ARE HERE!
Donald, McIlroy & Woods; Kaymer, Westwood & Garcia in Mega Thursday /Friday Groupings
Abu Dhabi, UAE. Wednesday 25th January, 2012: The Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship has ramped up its star factor pulling power with two ‘Giant’ groups for the US$2.7million tournament’s first two rounds this Thursday and Friday.
The pick of the draw is a three-way throw-down between world number one, Luke Donald, world number three, Rory McIlroy, and Abu Dhabi debutant, Tiger Woods – the biggest crowd puller in golf.
The trio tee off from the 10th hole at 7.40am tomorrow (Thursday, 26 January) and from the 1st hole at 12.05pm on Friday, 27 January.
Fans of reigning champion, Martin Kaymer, are also in for a treat.
The triple Abu Dhabi champion will play alongside world number two, Lee Westwood, and enigmatic crowd favourite, Sergio Garcia. The Europeans tee off from the 1st hole at 12.05pm on Thursday and from the 10th hole at 7.50am on Friday.
Elsewhere, UAE residents can cheer on local hero, Ahmed Al Musharek, on his second Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship appearance when he tees off from the 10th hole at 1.20pm on Thursday and from the 1st hole at 9.00am on Friday. The Emirati amateur will play with South African duo, Michael Bothma and Keith Horne.
